DON’T Do This With Your Reencle!

DON’T Do This With Your Reencle!

Whether you’re a new Reencle owner, a long-time user, or are planning on getting one, there are some things you should consider never doing with your Reencle. Doing these things could at best, cause your microbes to need some extra care/damage control, and at worse, cause your Reencle to malfunction entirely.

When using Reencle, DON'T:

1. Empty Your Reencle Tank Out

The number one worst mistake you can make when you encounter any issue with Reencle is to empty out its contents. This would be a grave mistake as you would be getting rid of ReencleMicrobe in doing so. Given that ReencleMicrobe is the powerhouse of your Reencle Prime, your disposing of it would render your Reencle entirely useless.

Without ReencleMicrobe to break down your food waste, Reencle would simply be a very expensive rubbish bin you can’t use as intended. If you ever find yourself in a position where your Reencle is malfunctioning, or your ReencleMicrobe looks abnormal, please feel free to contact us so that we can troubleshoot and advise you accordingly.

2. Add Thick, Waxy & Uncut Peels

When adding food waste to your Reencle, it’s important that you’re clear on what you should and shouldn’t add-in. You can find a guide on what we consider acceptable and non-acceptable food waste for your Reencle here. For starters, we typically say that you shouldn’t add into Reencle any food that wouldn’t, in theory, be digestible by our own stomach. This includes items like bones, tea bags, inedible plants and so on.

Of course, there are exceptions to this rule. For example, even though we wouldn’t typically recommend digesting fruit peels, Reencle will compost them for you; given that you chop them up into really small pieces. This is to ensure that it doesn’t sit in chunk-form inside your machine for ages. This also applies to fibre-heavy food wastes; chopping/tearing them up into smaller pieces will allow for a more seamless composting process.

3. Add Hard Seeds/Pits

While the previous points are suggestions for a smooth composting process, the next point is one that you want to follow to a t, as it would cause your Reencle to entirely malfunction otherwise. One of the biggest no-nos when using Reencle is adding hard or large seeds. We’re talking about avocado pits, jackfruit or durian seeds and things of that nature. Reencle doesn’t contain a grinder and instead, contains a rotating rod. Therefore, adding hard seeds or pits can result in breakage and malfunction that renders your Reencle completely unusable.

4. Add Oil/Oil-Heavy Content

Lastly, you should make sure that you don’t add oil-heavy (or oil on its own) to your Reencle. This could kill your ReencleMicrobe and given that one bag costs RM500 to replace, we’d really prefer if this didn’t happen to you. While ReencleMicrobe is extremely resilient as it’s halotolerant and acidophilic, oil-heavy content can essentially suffocate it. As we mentioned above, killing your ReencleMicrobe will render your Reencle unusable.

We hope this gives you a bit of guidance when it comes to taking care of your Reencle. If you haven’t got yourself a unit and would like to pre-order (to receive it by July 2023), you can do so here. Don’t forget to apply the promo code VIP600 at checkout to get an RM600 discount!
